Constance West

Constance perfected her design skills in California working for Bob Mackie and other movie costume designers who influenced her in the use of color, texture, line, and light. Her collection of unique wearable art tunics is inspired by Japanese culture and fabrics. They depict well-known reproductions of celebrated wood block prints or paintings from renown Japanese artists printed on a rayon "chirimen." Chirimen is a woven crepe made of high twist rayon that creates a lovely crinkle surface. The body of each tunic is a 4-ply silk known for its quality and richness.
