ARTISANAL CLOTHING & ACCESSORIES

Judith Content

Judith draws inspiration from nature and, like the haiku, her work explores the essence of an image, memory, or moment in time.  Her hand-dyed, pieced, and quilted silk wall pieces are exhibited nationally and internationally. Her fabrics are created using a contemporary approach to the traditional Japanese dye technique, arashi-shibori, where she adds and subtracts colors in layers. Although she can control the results to a great extent, the element of surprise when the designs are revealed never fails to excite her.

Judith graduated from San Francisco State University in 1979 with a BA in Fine Art with an Emphasis in Textiles. She lives in Palo Alto, California.
