Siska Schippers was born in Amsterdam and worked as a European gold and silversmith before she turned to handmade resin jewelry under the ZSISKA brand. In the 90s, she moved to Thailand to further her work with resin in a studio in Cha-Am, a small town two hours south of Bangkok. There she employed fourteen women who continue to work for ZSISKA today. After experimenting with different techniques, ZSISKA found a way to make resin as clear as glass and very light in weight. For each meticulously made item, beads are poured, painted, polished, and knotted with precision. These developed techniques result in jewelry that is easy to wear and the ideal accessory for any wardrobe.
