Sold Out
Japanese artist Utamaro is among the most highly regarded designers of ukiyo-e woodblock prints and paintings and best known for his bijin ōkubi-e, "large-headed pictures of beautiful women" of the 1790s. This stunning kimono-style tunic features one of his geishas in a coy pose, with a white curved fan behind her, the asymmetry offering a subtle movement to the image. It is beautifully styled with an elegant boatneck, drop shoulders, three-quarter-length sleeves, and side vents lending an easy, relaxed drape. The central imagine is 100% rayon chirimen crepe which is a woven crepe made of a high twist rayon yarn that offers luster and a soft crinkle surface texture while the surrounding fabric is 100% 4-ply silk, a high quality heavy silk that creates a soft, rich drape. Dry clean only.
